FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) How do I get more involved with SWAB?
The easiest way to get involved with SWAB is to become a mentor! Our application process is all online, just go to the 'get involved' tab!
2) What is the time commitment for mentors?
The time commitment for mentors is minimal. There are two time commitments for mentors: mentor training and event day. Mentor training is a 30 to
60 minute orientation session that prepares mentors for event day. Event day requires mentors to be at The Classic Center from 7:30 a.m. until about
2 p.m. That's it! Less than 6 hours total of your time can change a child's life!
3) How much money do I have to raise?
Each mentor must raise $50. Since mentors work in pairs, each mentor team will have raised $100 by event day. This $100 will go directly to your child
on event day.
4) What should I expect on event day?
Event day begins with mentors arriving at The Classic Center. Mentors receive breakfast upon their arrival as well as a folder containing their child's
information, wish list and clothing sizes. As children and their families arrive, mentors will spend time getting to know their child. Mentor groups and
their child will board busses to Target, shop and then return to The Classic Center. Upon their arrival, lunch will be provided and mentor groups will
wrap the items bought at Target. There will be entertainment while mentor groups are wrapping presents. Afterwards, children will rejoin their
families and mentors will be dismissed.
