EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS

DIRECTOR OF EVENT CREATIVITY
The Director of Event Creativity coordinates all aspects of the event day theme and decorations. They will maintain a strong line of communication with every member of the board, especially the Director of Event Operations and Director of Committee, bring the event day theme to life. The Director of Event Creativity will also work with committee to brainstorm, plan and execute all things creative. He or she will also work closely with the Director of Mass Media and Public Relations to keep all branding consistent with the event day theme. The Director of Event Creativity will also attend every committee meeting throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF EVENT OPERATIONS
The Director of Event Operations cordinates venue logistics, price bidding, Emcee scripting, and the event day schedule. He or she will make a detailed budget of all expenses and submit it to the Director of Finance. They will maintain a strong line of communication with every member of the board, especially the Director of Mentors, and Director of Mentees, to create a cohesive flow to the day. The Director of Event Operations will also schedule busses, order and purchase food, plan event day jobs and set up regular meetings with the Classic Center and shopping venue to keep everyone in the loop on how event day will flow. The Director of Event Operations will attend every committee meeting throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF COMMITTEE
Director of Committee will work directly with and lead our amazing SWAB Committee. They meet weekly with a large group of passionate Committee members throughout the year. From week to week, they work hard towards fundraising and planning for Event Day. He or she is responsible for making sure Committee members are engaged and feel welcome. They also encourage the members to attend events, create new ways to improve the organization, recruit new mentors, and fundraise as much as possible. As a SWAB leader, they must refine and brainstorm in order to take SWAB to new heights.
DIRECTOR OF MENTEES
The Director of Mentees serves as the liaison to the Clarke County School District (CCSD), with duties including: compiling a master list of all children participating in the event, attending meetings with Clarke County School District (once a month on Wednesdays from 8-10 am), and communicating with faculty members of CCSD. He or she is responsible for overseeing the collection of all background checks, assembling and sending invitations packets to participating children, and assembling day-of packets. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The Director of Community Outreach will be in charge of creating an alumni database, sending out a "newsletter" to alumni about Event Day theme, fundraising updates, and staying in the know with SWAB for even more fundraising opportunities. In addition to that, the COD would be responsible for creating a greater SWAB presence throughout the UGA community by arranging a co-fundraiser with another on campus organization as well as attend other organization events to strengthen ties. He/she would head Homecoming organization and designation. This person would also find opportunities such as Chili Cook-off to increase our presence throughout the Athens community.
DIRECTOR OF MENTORS
The Director of Mentors will oversee the mentors’ membership process. He or she will be responsible for maintaining the mentor database and email listerv, as well as collaborating with the executive board to build a Mentor Training program in preparation for the event day. He or she must be proficient in Microsoft Excel or other number processing software. The Director of Mentors will be the direct line of communication between the mentors and the Executive Board and, therefore, must be knowledgeable about all aspects of Shop with a Bulldawg. This position requires a substantial commitment and diligent organization of the Director of Mentor's time. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING
The Director of Fundraising plans, organizes, and executes all fundraising opportunities for mentors and events for the organization. This includes canning, the letter writing campaign, and any other fundraising events throughout the school year. He or she will work closely with the Director of Mentors, the Director of Sponsorship, and the Director of finance. He or she must be proficient in Microsoft Excel or other number processing software. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
The Director of Finance is responsible for the yearly budgeting, forecasting and record keeping for Shop with a Bulldawg. In addition, duties include approving purchases for events throughout the year, keeping track of donations, and managing the bank account. The Director of Finance will also be in charge of updating Exec members of their budgets throughout the year. At the end of the year the Director of Finance reviewes income statements submited by the previous board and must have extensive knowledge in microsoft excel and accounting. The Director of Finance will make connections and garner donations throughout the Athens community. They will be responsible for marketing SWAB to outside business to get as much financial support as they can. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
CO-DIRECTORS OF RECRUITMENT
The Co-Directors of Recruitment will promote Shop with a Bulldawg to attract a diverse group of mentors to pair with as many children as possible. Recruitment duties include, but are not limited to: promoting Shop with a Bulldawg to the various student organizations on campus, tabling during freshman summer orientation, managing Shop with a Bulldog’s booth at the Activities Fairs, and organizing various recruitment events on campus, such as Brumby Beach, Tate days and SWAB Mobile. In addition, these two directors must work extremely well together in order to attract a wide variety of students to participate in Shop with a Bulldawg. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
The Director of Public Relations is responsible for building a distinct brand for Shop with a Bulldawg both on campus and in the community. Managing the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channel are part of the position. The Director of Public Relations will be in direct contact with the Director of Mass Media to execute online projects and order recruitment and event day shirts. Keeping good relations with any on campus and off campus news sources is key for any necessary press. He or she should pitch to local and on-campus news outlets in conjunction with the Director of Sponsorship in order to get the word out to the community about the event and how to help. The Director of Public Relations will also oversee any thing legal. This includes partnering with legal counsel to understand, copy right law, secured documents and developing waivers for event day. In addition, the Director of Public Relations must attend at least three committee meetings during the semester.
DIRECTOR OF DESIGN (MASS MEDIA)
The Director of Mass Media is in charge of all things media. He or she should have a strong foundational understanding of graphic design and web design. He or she should have access to editing software and design software. This person will be in charge of coordinating both photographers and videographers for event day and then creating the event video. He or she is also in charge of putting together the mentor training and event day power points as well as the online application and equipment set up on event day. In addition, this person is responsible for all online and paper artwork. This includes graphics for social media, logos, the summer recruitment tri-board design, at-shirt designs and event day name tag and packet designs. Designing the event day and recruitment shirts also falls under this position. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
CO-DIRECTORS OF FRESHMAN COUNCIL
The Directors of Freshman Council are responsible for overseeing Freshman Council, an integral part of Shop with a Bulldawg. They will lead a group of freshman both personally and professionally as they endure their first year on campus and with SWAB. Freshman Council Directors should help the students grow as leaders by acting as strong role models and mentors to them. The Directors of Freshman Council are in charge of recruiting applicants, carrying out interviews, organizing and planning weekly meetings for Freshman Council, and working with committee and fellow exec members for a successful event day as well as other events throughout the year. The Directors of Freshman Council will guide the Freshman Council through the planning and execution of as many fundraising events as they see fit throughout the semester or year. It is highly recommended that they continue the annual "Sweets with SWAB" fundraiser. The holistic goal of Freshman Council is to develop the University of Georgia's future campus leaders and Shop with a Bulldawg's future committee, executive board members, and mentors. In addition, he or she must attend at least three committee meetings throughout the semester.
